CONRAD WORKING @ WCDSB
Helping our Staff Deliver Real Results for Waterloo & the Townships
@ Multiple Groundbreakings for
Brand New Catholic Schools

In just 2025-2026 alone, the WCDSB has constructed and opened Notre Dame Secondary (the first new high school in Waterloo Region in 20 years!) plus three new elementary schools: Holy Trinity, Guardian Angels and the rebuilt St. Patrick.
This pace of building is a testament to the increasing popularity of our faith-based system and the skill of WCDSB staff at getting construction completed in a timely manner, bucking the reputation that Canadian governments are always slow to get public infrastructure built and operational.

Announcement of Major New 2026 Expansion
for St. David's High School in Waterloo

I am pictured here with my fellow Trustees, Councillors and MPP Mike Harris at the announcement in January of a $17.8 million expansion to St. David's adding 18 classrooms and 414 student spaces. Our Waterloo high school is already a world leader in robotics education and this upgrade will help our students excel even more.
Our families in Woolwich also have reason to celebrate in 2026: St. Boniface in Breslau is receiving a major $13.1 million expansion providing 262 new student places.

@ The Graduation Ceremonies for
Thousands of Successful New Students

Clockwise: Representing our board at the convocations for St. David's, St. Benedict's, and at WCDSB's Navy Co-op Graduation at the Waterloo Legion.
My most cherished convocation experience was writing and delivering the address for the 2023 PSW (Personal Support Worker) graduation ceremony at our St. Louis Adult Learning Centre. I have great respect for PSWs because they helped care for my mother with dementia.
Faithfully Serving
Our Special Education Students

In these pictures we are holding new Sacramental Preparation Kits designed to help our special education students discover and access the Holy Sacraments (Communion, Reconciliation and Confirmation) for the first time using learning tools intended to resonate with their unique learning styles and challenges.
I was honoured to be associated with this brand new faith initiative for our board which was spearheaded by Jeanne Gravelle and the rest of the members of our Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). I've been on this committee for the last 3 years and I think it has helped make the world a little better place by teaching us as educators how to live out Christ's calling to servant leadership.
